BIG TEN CHAT

Okay...so I made a section with the National Championship Blogpost and wanted to include a Big Ten chat in there. But, obviously, due to the fact that the Big Ten is so distraught with weekly upsets, they will be lucky to get anybody in a BCS bowl game (Well, but of course, legally they MUST have somebody in a BCS bowl game (traditionally Rose Bowl) because they are an Automatic Qualifying (AQ) conference). So with that said, here is an exclusive chat on the Big Ten.

Right now in the rankings, everybody sees Penn State at #12 with a 8-1 record (5-0 in Big Ten play). Only loss to Alabama. BIG HOWEVER!!, they WILL lose at least the next two (if not evidently ALL THREE) games in the next few weeks so they SHOULD be finished. If--they--do--somehow--manage to win a couple of those games!!.......never mind. Nebraska and Wisconsin are highly pissed off teams that are looking for revenge and will take care of Penn State sending them back down. Ohio State should beat them, now that they will get Devier Posey back (along with everybody else already back).

Ohio State is a team that was COMPLETELY OUT at onset of the Big Ten show, but have struck gold, finding OFFENSE with a QB in Braxton Miller and with reclaimed RB "Boom" Herron at Nebraska. With good, veteran WR Posey, this team is well underrated. I had closely watched them playing against MSU, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. In that first week, they DID NOT even show up against MSU (.....but still was somehow in it!!). As I mentioned, they struck gold at Nebraska! They were in FIRM control and would have BEAT Nebraska if Ohio State QB Miller had not gotten injured. They were up 27-10 in the 3rd quarter but the minute Ohio State QB Miller got injured, everyone watching EVIDENTLY SAW the momentum shift and Nebraska winning 34-27. After finding that enlightening potential in that game, Ohio State has been really good. However, they are still young at QB, dealing with a new coach, and still looking for better consistancy. They will face a more relaxing, ending schedule where they should defeat, as mentioned, Penn State and then.....: Michigan.

And let's talk about Michigan!! Please lets talk about Michigan.....well, 1 word....*pause*: overhyped!! They got a bunch of bogus wins (western MI, SDSU, eastern MI), got out alive vs Notre Dame due to their SUPER poor defense at the time, then defeated an non-existant Minnesota. A good MSU team put UM right in their place. (I do NOT like MSU; REALLY do NOT like MSU but I can testify that they at least have a pretty solid defense and fine offense in the Big Ten). I do have to say that Michigan's defense has improved a bit. You can tell if you watched their Big Ten games. Their offense is pretty okay....but that scramble stuff WOULD GET S'MUSHED versus LSU, Alabama, or another good defense (Stanford, Oklahoma, even Boise State). It's just childish. Those players are NOT going to be considered by NFL scouts running those plays, regardless of talent. However, I do look back on that UM-Iowa game (with a smile) and still wonder that if they could've had Denard scramble in for the endzone, they would've had that last sec TD. They should resort to scrambling but what they did was the right thing, playing an actual stand-up offense that could work against the best teams--they may not be able to execute, but the play call wasn't bad. Watch the scoreboard to see Michigan losses in the weeks to come.

The most exciting team in the Big Ten right now is Penn State and Ohio State. I'm pretty excited about a fresh new Ohio State team playing pretty good football right now and possibly more excited to see Penn State's on-field reaction to Joe Paterno getting fired. A lot of students at the university were steamed, exacerbated, enraged, and simply irate!!...this means the players as well. You may very well see a VERY motivated Penn State team to gain glorious light amidst the dark gloom of the scandal.

The Penn State scandal

So after 61 years with Penn State (45 as head coach), Penn State FIRES Joe Paterno for NOTHING. Joe Paterno had done NOTHING. JOE PATERNO DID NOTHING!!!! It was that other guy!. Joe Paterno did not abuse, hurt, accept misappropriations , or steal from anybody else. It was simply done for the reason that JoePa not doing everything possible (beyond which he had reported it to school officials!!) to get rid of another man, Sandusky, a charge which really ultimately lies with the Athletic Director (and school officials!!!). They are the ones that should face the harsh slap. Penn State couldn't just let him retire on his own at the end of the season, which was bad enough. REALLY?!?! Obviously its media hype pushing the envelope without the passage of time (and due process) helping sort things out!!!

Truly the BIG question is why is Paterno taking all the heat for this?!?!? He wasn't the one that did anything to anyone else. He told school officials and its their responsibility to get rid of him...they are the ones that should be getting all the blame!! HEY, at least he reported the incident to officials, which can't be said for many other coaches these days....but i guess since they aren't popular enough, it would seem like the university didn't take any serious or real measures since the media would be all over it. The AD should have done his job....and he still hasn't commented on leaving which just shows the good character of JoePA, who did nothing except not take the issue further, by stepping down anyways (BUT GETS SCREWED ANYWAYS AND MORE!! BY GETTING FIRED).

In fact, after 40 some years, why hadn't the kids spoken up?!?!? I mean they would be 30/40/50 years old by now. Can't anonymously tell someone?!? The graduate assistant that saw it the incident. Why didn't he do everything to get rid of him (skip JoePa, tell the police!!!).

JoePa's legacy should not shall not be blemished because of this!! NO, NOT because of this. It is no reason to be forced out. If you do something bad, then yes you get fired. He did nothing bad. He just didn't speak up more. It was a mistake. 1 mistake after 61 years, come on. YOU!!/READER, ME!!/HUMANS!!!, we have messed up many MANY times in this stretch. I mean, COME ON!!

JoePa is just an easy scapegoat for everybody since he is the most popular. MEDIA: Who was the guy who saw it. HE IS THE GUY YOU ARE AFTER!! (not popular enough, eh?). How about the A.D.?!?....whom JoePa had reported to and is the boss of the coaches!!!

SAD/DISHEARTENING: JoePa didn't do more to inform others about what he knew; The kids suffering; the current state of the university football program.

DISGUSTING: Sandusky committing this crime. The media hype pushing, pushing, and relentlessly pushing the story from breaking news (cause) to JoePa resigning/officials under fire/University rocked TO ....JoePa getting fired along with the president and other athletic members (effect) TO....personally murdering JoePa?!???? or Live coverage of dragging a dismembered Sandusky corps on the street and FORCING!! all news media outlets to LIVE AIR the lynching and upclose burning of him at the stake?!?!? The media have got to LEAVE!!

If you're going to make a VERY IMPORTANT decision regarding highly regarded personnel, do so with due diligence, patience, and neutrality. NOT!!! with the heat of the media at your back. Let the media back off and make the decision thoroughly, thoughtfully, and with all things considered.

BUT HEY!, I guess if the media is the NEW legal process, the coverage of the occupy wall street movement would mean that all the wall street business &^%&*(& and bank CEOs and their personnel would be F-I-R-E-D!!!...FIRED!!!!...YES!...and then you can free up the legal process eliminating so many unethical lawyers and judges and in turn cleaning up the system making it much more efficient and, ah-ha-ah, legal! Yes, and go ahead and include all Congressmen and the Senators as well....OH NOW, we can even eliminate Herman Cain from the race!! He actually did sexually assault others. If you can fire someone for not telling others about sexually assault, I guess you would kill those who actually did do the crime!!...AWWW WELL, DAMN, TOO BAD!!!.... :( !! *major frown* Wouldn't that be a major success?!?!?!
