BIG TEN CHAT

Okay...so I made a section with the National Championship Blogpost and wanted to include a Big Ten chat in there. But, obviously, due to the fact that the Big Ten is so distraught with weekly upsets, they will be lucky to get anybody in a BCS bowl game (Well, but of course, legally they MUST have somebody in a BCS bowl game (traditionally Rose Bowl) because they are an Automatic Qualifying (AQ) conference). So with that said, here is an exclusive chat on the Big Ten.

Right now in the rankings, everybody sees Penn State at #12 with a 8-1 record (5-0 in Big Ten play). Only loss to Alabama. BIG HOWEVER!!, they WILL lose at least the next two (if not evidently ALL THREE) games in the next few weeks so they SHOULD be finished. If--they--do--somehow--manage to win a couple of those games!!.......never mind. Nebraska and Wisconsin are highly pissed off teams that are looking for revenge and will take care of Penn State sending them back down. Ohio State should beat them, now that they will get Devier Posey back (along with everybody else already back).

Ohio State is a team that was COMPLETELY OUT at onset of the Big Ten show, but have struck gold, finding OFFENSE with a QB in Braxton Miller and with reclaimed RB "Boom" Herron at Nebraska. With good, veteran WR Posey, this team is well underrated. I had closely watched them playing against MSU, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. In that first week, they DID NOT even show up against MSU (.....but still was somehow in it!!). As I mentioned, they struck gold at Nebraska! They were in FIRM control and would have BEAT Nebraska if Ohio State QB Miller had not gotten injured. They were up 27-10 in the 3rd quarter but the minute Ohio State QB Miller got injured, everyone watching EVIDENTLY SAW the momentum shift and Nebraska winning 34-27. After finding that enlightening potential in that game, Ohio State has been really good. However, they are still young at QB, dealing with a new coach, and still looking for better consistancy. They will face a more relaxing, ending schedule where they should defeat, as mentioned, Penn State and then.....: Michigan.

And let's talk about Michigan!! Please lets talk about Michigan.....well, 1 word....*pause*: overhyped!! They got a bunch of bogus wins (western MI, SDSU, eastern MI), got out alive vs Notre Dame due to their SUPER poor defense at the time, then defeated an non-existant Minnesota. A good MSU team put UM right in their place. (I do NOT like MSU; REALLY do NOT like MSU but I can testify that they at least have a pretty solid defense and fine offense in the Big Ten). I do have to say that Michigan's defense has improved a bit. You can tell if you watched their Big Ten games. Their offense is pretty okay....but that scramble stuff WOULD GET S'MUSHED versus LSU, Alabama, or another good defense (Stanford, Oklahoma, even Boise State). It's just childish. Those players are NOT going to be considered by NFL scouts running those plays, regardless of talent. However, I do look back on that UM-Iowa game (with a smile) and still wonder that if they could've had Denard scramble in for the endzone, they would've had that last sec TD. They should resort to scrambling but what they did was the right thing, playing an actual stand-up offense that could work against the best teams--they may not be able to execute, but the play call wasn't bad. Watch the scoreboard to see Michigan losses in the weeks to come.

The most exciting team in the Big Ten right now is Penn State and Ohio State. I'm pretty excited about a fresh new Ohio State team playing pretty good football right now and possibly more excited to see Penn State's on-field reaction to Joe Paterno getting fired. A lot of students at the university were steamed, exacerbated, enraged, and simply irate!!...this means the players as well. You may very well see a VERY motivated Penn State team to gain glorious light amidst the dark gloom of the scandal.
